Dyslexia Assessments

What's involved?

The assessment process involves an initial screening questionnaire and telephone call, to check whether an assessment for possible dyslexia is appropriate at this stage.  If so, then a 3 hour cognitive assessment session will then be booked.  If not, then other possibilities can be explored.

The cognitive assessment involves tests of reasoning, processing speed, reading, writing, spelling, and phonological awareness.  The results of the assessment will be discussed at the end of the session, and a report is available within 10 working days.

The assessment is administered and scored using a mixture of traditional paper-pen tests and the iPad-based testing platform of Pearson Clinical Assessment’s Q-interactive.
